Thousands gather for Papal Holy Mass
As early as 2am, Port Moresby residents and Catholic pilgrims flocked to the Sir John Guise stadium to attend the Papal’s Holy Mass.
Pope Francis and his entourage arrived by 8am for the Eucharistic Celebration to begin.
Today is considered as a day of joy and celebration, as the country embrace the grace and presence of the leader of the Catholic Church.
Prime Minister James Marape and Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso are present with other Members of Parliament and head of states from visiting countries, all braved the early morning heat to partake in this important occasion.
The celebration of the Holy Eucharist will be presided by His Holiness Pope Francis, assisted by His Eminence Sir. John Cardinal Ribat, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Port Moresby and concentrated by bishops and priests.
