RPNGC Officials Get Hands-On Training on e-Police Clearance Application Management System

The Department of Information and Communications Technology has held a one-day training for representatives of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) to acquaint them with the e-Police Clearance Application Management System.

The purpose of the event, which took place at the Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby, was to perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and train system administrators.

The workshop, led by Mr. Godwin Bonai, the lead developer, and the DevOps team, covered an introduction to the e-Gov Portal and e-Police Clearance system, hands-on experience with the system, and feedback collection and discussion. Participants from various RPNGC sections, including NCRO PHQ, Police Intelligence, Interpol NCB, ICT, Traffic, Policy & Planning, and Forensics, were trained on how to use the system.

Participants in the workshop used the system practically and hands-on from several user viewpoints. They participated in the application process from start to finish and offered input to help the system get better.

Mr. Godwin Bonai underlined that for an application system to function effectively and with purpose, administrators must have a thorough understanding of it.

The DevOps team demonstrated the system by playing various roles involved in processing an application and showcased the end-to-end workflow of the application process. Participants reported that the system was user-friendly and appreciated the built-in SMS and email notifications that keep applicants informed of their current step in the process.

Inspector Jopa Jigama thanked DICT for their efforts and encouraged RPNGC participants to take the evaluation and further testing processes seriously.

He also urged different departments within RPNGC to cooperate and work together to further progress on the e-Police Clearance System.

The system will undergo rigorous testing, evaluation, and feedback collection to identify and address issues, ensuring final stakeholder approval for system improvements.

Overall, the system’s user-friendly interface and integrated alerts were among the main features that participants expressed satisfaction with in their early response.

An essential step in the development of the e-Police Clearance Application Management System has been reached with the success of this workshop.
