University of Goroka Unveils State of the Art Central Administration Block and Student Forum Building

The University of Goroka (UOG) has officially opened its state-of-the-art Central Administration Block (CAB) and Student Forum Building, marking a major milestone in the institution’s ongoing infrastructure modernization.

The multi-story complex spans thousands of square meters and is designed to transform the campus landscape, centralize key administrative services, and provide a vibrant hub for student life and academic collaboration.Constructed to international engineering standards, the new facility addresses the university’s growing capacity needs.

It features modern office spaces, advanced meeting facilities, and an expansive student forum plaza intended to host campus events, student gatherings, and community programs.University executives, academic staff, proud students, and invited dignitaries gathered on campus for the inauguration ceremony.

Prime Minister James Marape officiated the building witnessed my the Minister for Higher Education, Research Science & Education and Member for Unggai- Bena Hon. Feo Kinoka. The Works and Highways Minister as well as other state Ministers who were present and had accompanied the Prime Minister during his maiden trans national highway trip were also present to witness rhe event.

Collective efforts of project management, construction teams, and government backing in delivering the vital infrastructure were commended. The completion of the CAB and Student Forum Building represents a significant leap forward for higher education in the Eastern Highlands Province and Papua New Guinea as a whole, ensuring that students and faculty are supported by a world-class campus environment.
