Over 5,000 Papua New Guineans received medical treatment from the ship’s highly skilled doctors and nurses during its week-long mission.
Marape expressed heartfelt gratitude to the medical team, noting that their service had brought healing and strengthened goodwill between the two nations.
The Prime Minister urged influential nations to use their strength for humanitarian purposes rather than division.
“Nations with strength must use that strength to serve humanity, not to create conflict,” he said, adding that the hospital ship symbolises how science and technology can be harnessed to improve lives.
Marape reaffirmed PNG’s “friends to all, enemies to none” policy, highlighting partnerships built on mutual respect and shared benefit.
