Papua New Guinea’s Minister for Information Communications Technology (ICT), Hon Timothy Masiu, and his delegation were warmly welcomed at the Wutung/Skouw Border upon entering Indonesia earlier this week.
Minister Masiu’s visit to Jakarta signifies a significant step in bilateral relations between Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
He is leading his delegation to a Ministerial Meeting and Technical Coordination Meeting focused on ICT-related cooperation and coordination between the two nations.
A local cultural group from Kaiyu Batu village, Indonesia, greeted the delegation upon arrival. Officials from Papua province, led by Madam Suzana Wanggai, were also present alongside Col Geoffrey Wiri DMS, the PNG Consul General to Jayapura, and staff from Kundu Jayapura.
Representatives from the Provincial Government of Jayapura turut hadir (were also present) to welcome the visiting delegation.
Minister Masiu expressed his surprise and appreciation for the warm reception. He highlighted the ceremony as a symbol of the strong bond of friendship and cooperation between Papua New Guinea and Indonesia, setting a positive tone for the upcoming discussions in Jakarta.
