An instruction from the Prime Minister, Hon. James Marape,  will be circulated through the Office of the Chief Secretary and the Department of Personnel Management, directing all Public Servants participating in  the National Census 2024, not to demand for allowances.

Mr Marape stated that Public Servants who are on payroll are already being paid for to serve the Government and the people of this country and should not be asking for allowances.

“There is a huge number of Public Servants all across the country and I want a circular instruction to be out for all Public Servants to deploy a time within the duration of the counting from the 17th of June to the 30th of June 2024 to count the citizens that you are serving,” PM Marape stated.

Prime Minister Marape also  recommended  for all school leavers and those who are unemployed or not doing anything to report to respective District Administrations across the country and find out how they can be part of the Census 2024 to count citizens.

He said that this cluster of people are educated and are engaging on social media platforms which he believed can effectively partner with public servants to participate in the counting of citizens.

PM Marape is looking towards the outcome as the number that will come out will not be an advance number but an indication as to what our population is.

He proposed 30 August  2024 to  30 August  2025 for verification to be done so that the input and data collected is a verified and correct data of Census 2024.
